| Abstract: | RESUMEN: Entre Septiembre de 1997 y Julio de 1998 once especies de Demospongiae fueron colectadas en Isla Larga, Bahía de Mochima, Venezuela. Los especímenes fueron colectados en diferentes tipos de substratos (arenoso, rocoso, pedregoso, coralino y de Thalassia), a profundidades de hasta 7 metros. Las esponjas identificadas y descritas son Anthosigmella varians, Cinachyrella kuenkenthali, Chondrilla nucula, Ircinia felix, I. strobilina, Aplysina fistularis fistularis, Niphates erecta, Amphimedon viridis, Mycale (Carmia) microsigmatosa, Ulosa ruetzleri y Halichondria melanadocia. ABSTRACT: Between September 1997 and July 1998 eleven species of Demospongiae were collected from Isla Larga, Mochima Bay, Venezuela. Specimens were collected from different substrate (sand, rock, pebble, coral and Thalassia) at depths as far down as 7 m. The sponges collected and described were Anthosigmella varians, Cinachyrella kuenkenthali, Chondrilla nucula, Ircinia felix, I. strobilina, Aplysina fistularis fistularis, Niphates erecta, Amphimedon viridis, Mycale (Carmia) microsigmatosa, Ulosa ruetzleri and Halichondria melanadocia. |
