Abstract: | Medicinal plants have always been in place in communities as tools for health care. In Venezuela there are many plants with medicinal or curative principles. This work is the result of ethnobotanical research based on a survey-interview in TheChispero, in the municipality Piar, Monagas State, Venezuela. Applied to a selected sample of key informants and knowledgeable on the subject (23 people). This study is a descriptive level and type of field. In this paper, 54 plant species commonly used in the industry and includes The Chispero: common and scientific names, plant parts used, uses, preparation techniques and healing qualities attributed. There were a total of 54 species that dominate the area, distributed in 38 families. The family is more Lamiaceae species with 14.81%. The most used plant is the leaf with a 72.22%, the highest quality was attributed to a 42.69% antispasmodic and preparation technique used was the infusion with a 68.52%. The sector has not abandoned the habit of growing medicinal plants, their use is common, is not limited to when diseases. |
