UN NUEVO REGISTRO Y UNA NUEVA ESPECIE DEL GÉNERO OPECOELINA MANTER, 1934 (DIGENEA: OPECOELIDAE) HALLADAS EN PECES MARINOS DEL NORORIENTE DE VENEZUELA

Abstract

RESUMEN: Se describe a Opecoelina dewegeri n. sp. hallada en el intestino de un ejemplar de Paralabrax dewegeri y se redescribe a Opecoelina pacifica MANTER, 1940, del intestino de Opisthognathus macrognathus, la cual constituye un nuevo registro geográfico y de hospedero. O. dewegeri n.p se diferencia de O. scorpaenae MANTER, 1934 por presentar folículos vitelinos que penetran a la parte anterior del cuerpo y de O. pacifica por poseer el cuerpo casi dos veces más grande y con expansiones laterales a nivel acetabular, receptáculo seminal pequeño y globoso, folículos vitelinos dispersos y vesícula seminal externa delgada, no sinuosa y alejada de la zona ovárica. Se presenta una tabla comparativa para las especies estudiadas y una clave para las especies de Opecoelina MANTER, 1934. ABSTRACT: Opecoelina dewegeri sp. n. was described from the intestine of Paralabrax dewegeri and Opecoelina pacifica MANTER, 1940 from the intestine of Opisthognathus macrognathus was apointed as a new geographical registration and for a new host. O. dewegeri n.p differs from O. scorpaenae MANTER, 1934 because of the presence of extended vitelline follicles that reach the forebody and from O. pacifica because the body is almost twice as big and possesses lateral expansions at the acetabular level, small and spherical seminal receptacle, dispersed vitelline follicles and thin external seminal vesicle, straight and located far from the ovarian area. Comparative tables for the studied species and keys for the identification of then species belonging to Opecoelina are provided.
