BÚSQUEDA Y SELECCIÓN DE TEXTOS EN LA INTERNET PARA INVESTIGACIÓN CIENTÍFICA

Abstract

RESUMEN: Descargar o recuperar materiales de la Internet para incluirlos como referencia en investigaciones es una actividad cada vez más común. Sin embargo, en muchos casos las búsquedas en línea son infructuosas debido al desconocimiento de estrategias adecuadas para orientarlas de forma efectiva. Por otra parte, muchos investigadores (independientemente de su nivel o grado de instrucción) siguen cometiendo el error de incluir cualquier información obtenida de la Internet, bien sea por carecer de herramientas para conseguir buenos materiales o por desconocimiento de los criterios básicos para su selección. Esta investigación de tipo documental se planteó con el objetivo de presentar algunas opciones a los profesores y estudiantes universitarios para la optimización de la búsqueda y selección de textos recuperados de la Internet, en función de su calidad como material de consulta para fi nes de investigación científi ca. Adicionalmente, se hacen algunas consideraciones relacionadas con el respeto a los derechos de autor y se indican algunas páginas y sitios web con contenido de calidad y validez científi ca para que puedan ser consultadas por investigadores de pre y postgrado mientras ejercitan las habilidades para incrementar dicha lista según sus intereses académicos. ABSTRACT: Downloading materials from the Internet to be included as references in papers is an activity that is becoming more common each day. However, in most cases, online searches are unsuccessful due to the lack of knowledge on adequate strategies to achieve them effi ciently. Besides, many researchers (regardless of their academic level) are still making the mistake of including information of all kinds, in some cases due to a lack of skills to access to good quality materials or because they do not know the basic criteria for selecting those materials. This study was performed with the objective of presenting some options to faculties and students in order to improve online searches and the selection of the materials they download, in terms of quality as references to be used in scientifi c research. Additionally, some considerations regarding copyrights are presented, as well as some web sites and pages of good quality and scientifi c validity are provided for undergraduate and graduate researchers to use them while they develop the skills to increase that knowlegde according to their academic and research interests.
