LISTA PRELIMINAR DE LA FAMILIA ORCHIDACEAE PARA EL ESTADO SUCRE, VENEZUELA

Abstract

RESUMEN: Se presenta una lista preliminar de las orquídeas del estado Sucre; construida sobre la base de una investigación bibliográfica y la revisión de las exsiccata depositados en el Herbario “Isidro Ramón Bermúdez Romero” de la Universidad de Oriente. En ella se incluyen 144 especies distribuidas en 65 géneros. Epidendrum y Pleurothallis son los géneros mejor representados con 23 y 14 especies, respectivamente. Del total de las especies, 109 son epífitas y 37 son terrestres. Es notable que la mayor diversidad de orquidáceas se encuentre en los bosques húmedos (63 especies). ABSTRACT: A preliminary list of orchids from the state of Sucre is introduced, based on the bibliographic investigation and the revision of the exsiccata stored in the Herbarium “Isidro Ramón Bérmudez Romero” of the Universidad de Oriente. The list includes 144 species distributed in 65 genera. Epidendrum and Pleurothallis are the best represented; with 23 and 14 species, respectively. Of the total number of species, 109 are epiphytes and 37 are terrestrial. It is important to note that the humid forest comprised the greatest diversity (63 species).
