NEREIDIDAE LAMARCK, 1818 (ANNELIDA: POLYCHAETA) DE LA COSTA OCCIDENTAL DE VENEZUELA

Abstract

RESUMEN: Se realizaron colectas entre diciembre 2005 y junio 2006 en siete estaciones de la costa occidental deVenezuela (Zulia y Falcón). Los individuos fueron recolectados sobre substratos rocosos. Se examinaron 647 ejemplares de lafamilia Nereididae, identificándose 6 especies, Pseudonereis gallapagensis KINBERG 1866 (338); Alitta succinea LEUCKART 1847(281); Perinereis anderssoni KINBERG 1866 (13); Nereis riisei GRUBE 1857 (2) y Nereis falsa QUATREFAGES, 1865 (9); queconstituyen primeros registros para la costa occidental del país, y Namalycastis borealis (GLASBY, 1999) (4) que constituye elprimer registro para Venezuela, ampliando así la distribución de los miembros de la familia e incrementando el conocimientode la diversidad anelidológica para Venezuela. ABSTRACT: Samples were collected over rocky substrates at seven stations on the western coast of Venezuela (Zulia andFalcon States) between December 2005 and June 2006. Six hundred and forty seven individuals of the family Nereididae wereexamined, resulting in the identification of 6 species: Pseudonereis gallapagensis, KINBERG 1866 (338); Neanthes succinea,FREY & LEUCKART 1847 (281); Perinereis anderssoni, KINBERG 1866 (13); Nereis riisei, GRUBE 1857 (2); and Nereis falsa,QUATREFAGES, 1865 (9), which represent the first records for the western coast of the country; and Namalycastis borealis(GLASBY, 1999) (4), which represents the first record for Venezuela, thus widening the distribution of the members of the familyand increasing the annelid diversity for Venezuela.
